To give our adventurers in JADE's Interstellar Exports Campaign a reasonable enemy for their first ship to ship combat, I painted this Scout Type-S. It's colours and markings denote that it belongs to the Draco Syndicate: The largest criminal organization in the galaxy.
The Draco Syndicate doesn't care much about hiding who they are, proudly brandishing their three-headed dragon crest on their ship's hulls. The symbol I used on this model was an Alpha Legion decal from Warhammer 40k's Chaos Space Marines. It was the perfect size!
Draco Syndicate craft are not an uncommon sight, though they will almost always maintain communication silence, and change course when hailed or approached. What you really have to fear from them is when they do not change course, or worse; break radio silence. Then you have something they want, and they will stop at nothing to get it.

Can you tell me where did the scout miniature come from? I really disliked the one I had in the 90's, as it had a bubble-like (or raised) canopy like a jet. Yuck. But THIS, the one you show us here is great!
ReplyDeleteIt indeed is one of the real one's form the 80's! I can't find anyone who still produces them, but a few of the old ships are still kicking around on Ebay (where I got mine). I would recommend looking there. Good luck!
DeleteAnd that raised canopy sounds awful!
It is awful. I can't believe I never saw those back then. I had the 15mm vargr, which I loved (and still have one or two of). I was always at War Games West back then, so it really surprises me I missed that one. -=kicking myself=- I shall now search eBay, for as long as it takes.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
